The quality of sandalwood oil available on the market today is not the same as what it used to be, wild and old trees have almost disappeared from existence. Although there is still plenty of sandalwood trees growing around, most of them are plantation trees and rather young. One of the main issues that we discover about the quality of sandalwood oil, is that it is not as much the content of total santalol that defines the quality of the oil but rather the age and maturity of the santalol, and this is where the problem lies, most oils today are distilled out of trees that are simply just too young and too green, and although aging a green oil might help a lot to contribute to its softness and creamy quality, yet not everyone has an extra 30 years to spare for their oils to age to maturity. This is where our Sacred Deadwood comes in with its completely timeless scent, although it is freshly distilled, this oil come from dead sandalwood trees that are gathered from the West Australian desert by the local Aboriginal Natives and carefully distilled at low pressure for 24hrs. The result is what we consider just absolutely "timeless". The creamy "lactonic" dimensions of this sandalwood oil takes one to a time that does not exist anymore, somewhat reminiscent to what an old Mysore Sandalwood might've smelled like, or, at least, sharing certain qualities of it. This oil may be fresh from the still [2024], but the trees that have carried it in their dead bodies have allowed it to cure for potentially decades if not over a century, under the hot dry desert sun. Now, although the material used to distill this oil does not endanger the natural living ecosystem, still, its rarity and limitedness as a natural resource needs to be recognized and honored in order to really treasure it for what it is; truly, a Sacred [Dead] Wood. We hope that whosoever is called to receive the gift of this sacred oil will realize what a blessing it truly is. To all the sandalwood lovers out there; Cheers!
