Khus Vetiver is the original strain of wild vetiver from north India, distilled through age old technique by the most ancient lineage of perfumers in the world and aged in large calf skin bottles to allow for proper breathing and maturing of the oil, Khus vetiver is truly unlike other vetivers, it is green in color as a result of the oxidation that occurs during the distillation in the large copper pots. This special batch of Khus is one we are always on the hunt for, sitting dormant of the shelves of a small shop in the dusty old streets of the ancient distillers town of Kannauj, India, we were told that this batch has about 20yrs of maturation, we cannot verify this statement but the smell sure seems to agree with its given age. Think of of deep wet cave, mixed with a dimension of ozone and and a profound pretrichor from a freshly awakened wet earth.
